The Living room

We removed the border, but did not remove this long wall of wall-paper. There was just so much wall-paper we didn't think we'd get it all done if we did this wall too, and it was in good shape.

The biggest job here was clearing out the clutter.

Some of the crew on our first day, still trying to decide where to start.

We brought Dran/Winnie over to keep an eye on things. Since we were all working in the house, we kept the heat low. I think it was off, actually. This meant it was too cold for her, so we found some blankets, including an electric blanket and tucked her in so she could watch in comfort.

See the flow charts and lists taped to the wall at right? Beth and Kevin had things well-organized before we started.

Kathy took this one of me sorting and packing up some of the pottery.  I was determined to get this room cleared out. By the time I did this many of the pieces had been claimed by family. The stick-thing dividing the picture is the blind we took down from the window. It went back up later.

And here is how it looked when we left. The carpet will be replaced soon. The small pile by the door we took with us when we left.

The other end of the room. Beth and Dale again just trying to figure out where to start. (Hover over this one for an 'after' view.)

Some of us started with the border here and others with the wallpaper in the kitchen. We used every stool we could find. There are 4 in this photo.

By lunch time most of this part of the border was gone. Kathy bought stuff for sandwiches, veggies and fruit for lunch, which lasted for 5 days, though on the last day it was just Dale and I eating there.

Another lunch photo.

Ken, Marta and Zofia worked hard at wallpaper removal and painting.

As did Teresa and Wendy. They'd finish one job and find another.

We cleared out this end of the room,  cleaned up the floor and rehung the curtains on our last day. With Dran's big table gone, the light is no longer centered over the table, but the new owners can fix that. And if they want to remove this paper, they are welcome to do so.

I didn't know where to put this one so here it is. This is the dinner we had at Dran's new apartment. Beth and Kevin fixed a wonderful meal for us. None of the rest of us were up to cooking on top of the other work, so we went out to eat the other nights.
