In January and February, 2012 we went around the world for a second time.

Our first stop was Beijing; I flew from there to Kunming, where my sister was living and had a wonderful time visiting a mountain village, Dali; the Stone Forest outside of Kunming, and Kunming itself.  While I was traveling I kept a blog, which was easier than doing web pages, so I’m going to link here to those blog posts.  It was quite cold in Beijing, so I didn’t get that many pictures there, but Kunming was much warmer, so most of my China pictures are from that area.

These pages link to each other at the bottom of the page, so you can follow our trip in order if you like, by clicking those links. (Also those pages are hosted by another site and pop-up ads appear.)

Beijing, China
Shanghai, China
Kuala Lumpur
Quetta, Pakistan
Dubai
This trip finished up in Italy, where we visited Florence, Pisa and Rome before heading home again.  Those pages are linked on the Europe page, but also at the bottom of the around the world pages.

In 2004 we were in Japan, where Jim visited a university in Tokyo and I went to visit my cousin who was then living on Shikoku Island. (These pages are also hosted by a different site, but no pop-ups – just don’t follow the links.)

Tokyo
Shikoku Island [Kamojima, a nursery school, a boat trip on the Yoshino River, crossing the very scary vine bridge over the Iya valley.]

Now that I’ve finished this list, I realize 2004 was 12 years ago.  I’ve been doing this for a long time! Those little girls on Shikoku, my cousins daughters are all grown up now!
